Additional Websites

From i.STAR Help

Additional websites are available on an existing i.STAR server, running off the same Retail STAR database that powers the existing site.

Key Information

Retail STAR supports only one designated "webstore". Thus any additional site(s) will share the same store # currently utilized for the primary site. This means no unique pricing or reporting is available for the additional site(s). Sales orders and invoices printed from Retail STAR for web orders will all print the same company/store name.

Additional site(s) share the same site admin as well. Changes made via the site admin will affect all sites, admin area statistics will be combined for all sites, etc.

Additional site(s) need their own unique SSL certificate(s).

As with all site(s), retailer is responsible for domain name registration.

Navigation and product search can be tailored on the additional site(s) to filter the product set if desired, based on i.STAR's available search and navigation parameters (typically this is done by department). Changes may be required to the existing primary site navigation and search, depending on what is desired. Here are some common scenarios:

  • Site A currently includes entire online catalog and will continue to do so. Site B will only include a small selection (subset) of that catalog. In this scenario, changes most likely will not be required to Site A, since that selection is not changing. Merchandise for Site B will need to be classified using dept/class/subclass, or another available field such as GROUP or CATEGORY, and Site B's navigation and search functions filtered accordingly when the new site is built out.
  • Site A currently includes entire online catalog, but this will be changing. The online catalog will be split between Sites A and B, with each site specializing in only that sub-set of merchandise. In this scenario, changes will be required to Site A since that selection is changing. All merchandise will need to be classified accordingly using dept/class/subclass, or another available field such as GROUP or CATEGORY, and both Site A and Site B's navigation and search functions filtered accordingly.

Basic Setup

Basic setup fee is $199 (one-time) with additional $50 (recurring) monthly, per site(s). Setup fee covers site setup with "generic" design templates and unique IP address (required for the SSL certificate).

This does not include any design or build-out hours. Retailer will need to work with CAM Commerce on building out the unique design and navigation for the new site(s) (see below).

Design/Build Out Hours

Every project is different and assessed individually. A CAM Commerce representative would be happy to assess your specific needs to provide a quote on design and build out.
