Design Considerations

Design for your i.STAR site will consist of two basic parts:
1. Wrapper: A site-wide "wrapper", which is the top (header), bottom (footer), and sides (left/right) that will remain constant or static on every page throughout the site, such as your logo, nagivation menu, product search box, etc. CAM will design one "wrapper", it will be the same on every page as you navigate through the site, with content filled in by i.STAR for each type of page (browse page, product detail page, shopping cart page, etc).
2. Homepage: CAM will design one homepage, which is usually the wrapper plus homepage-specific content such as Featured Products, Promotional Banner space, etc.
If you would prefer to work with a third-party web design firm, we are happy to implement their design for your i.STAR site. Initial consultation is recommended to ensure they know what to provide, we typically ask for only one final design file, encompassing both the Wrapper and Homepage, in layered Photoshop (.PSD) format. We can work with other formats or inputs if needed, and speak with your design team directly to help answer any questions, or approve an initial draft or mockup, etc. Your Project Manager will work with you to interface with your design team as needed.
The rest of the pages throughout your site will have content filled in based on the various types of standard i.STAR site pages (examples listed at the bottom of this page).
Once you have access to your i.STAR site admin area during your implementation, you can change settings there as desired, to modify certain aspects of the i.STAR content pages, such as product listing page style, number of items per page, image size, font and font colors, and more.
Standard i.STAR Site Pages:
Your i.STAR site will include all standard i.STAR pages, such as:
Home page : Introduce your store, feature items and special offers, etc.
Product Listing Page: Also known as a Browse page. Automatically display items with a Department/Class/Subclass or other criteria based on records from Retail STAR.
Product Detail Page : Display product specific information including main product image, Color images, alternate images, extended description, stock status, and suggested selling related items.
Specials : Automatically display all items with sale prices in Retail STAR.
Advanced Search : In depth options to search for products by Department, Class, Subclass, Brand, Size, and Price.
View Cart : Display the list of items your shopper intends to purchase every time they add a new item or only when they click on the shopping cart link
Visible Shopping Cart : Display the running total of line items and $$ for the cart visible on each page, in either site header or footer.
Checkout Pages : Including login/registration page (Guest Checkout available), and final checkout/payment page.
My Account : Provides your shoppers access to their online order history, billing and shipping addresses, email address and other account preferences.
About Us : Include information on your store's history, mission, address, etc.
Customer Service : Include FAQs, policies, store directions, and other information for shoppers to access
