i.STAR’s Gift Registry Feature
How to Set Up
This feature allows the use of Gift Registries set-up in the retail store as well as setting up Gift Registries and/or Wish Lists online (need Retail STAR v8.0/i.STAR v5.0 for online gift registry maintenance capability).
Setting up the types of gift registry you want to allow (i.e. Baby Registry, Bridal Registry, and Wish List) is done from Retail Star, under Maintenance/Gift Registry Types.
For gift registries that were set-up in the store and need to be made available online, make sure that the Display on Web box is checked under Options. Also, there must be a customer ID associated with the first name on the gift registry for it to show up fully on the web (ie. be accessible in the person's My Account area). Without that, it won't show up in My Account section to be maintained, it will only be available for others to shop from:
Creating a Wish List/Gift Registry online
Once the feature is enabled, customers logging into the My Account section will have the ability to create one or several Registries and/or Wish Lists, by clicking the "Create Wish List" link.
In order to be able to add items to the registry or wish list, it needs to be activated by selecting the check box at the right of it.
If there is more that one registry created, there can only be one active registry at one time, that items are being added to.
The Wish List/Registry can be updated, removing items, updating quantities, etc.
What if a Registry Isn't Displaying in My Account?
The gift registry maintenance online is associated with the first name in the registry in Office STAR.
1. In Office STAR, search in Customer Maintenance for the customer's email address.
2. Note Customer ID.
3. Check Gift Registry name #1 to make sure Customer ID is set to same Customer ID as found above.
4. If it's not, set it.
5. After that change communicates to the webstore, your customer will be able to log in and maintain their registry online.
