New Features/Changes
UPS OnLine Tools
Retailers are now able to configure and use UPS OnLine Tools to have shipping cost estimates looked up in real-time from the i.STAR shopping cart to UPS.
Shipping costs will be calculated based on weight and the ship to zip code (at a minimum).
Shoppers can also see UPS tracking information when viewing order history in My Account.
There are parts of the set up in Retail STAR and part in your online admin area.
Retail STAR Set Up
Enter all shipping methods you will make available on your site. Not all shipping methods must use the online UPS rates, you may have some shipping methods that do while others continue to use the rate tables you have set up in Retail STAR. Each shipping method set up in Retail STAR that you wish to have rates looked up in real-time from the i.STAR shopping cart to UPS needs to be mapped to UPS service methods in the online admin area in a step later down in this article.
NOTE: You must have "fallback" rates set up in Retail STAR for the methods you are using UPS integration with so in the event UPS doesn't return a rate, their rate system is down, etc., i.STAR has a fallback rate to use. i.STAR checks for the fallback rates during the checkout process and if they are not set, the shopping cart will get an error so it is important to make sure the fallback rates are set in Retail STAR.
Item Weight and Other Information
The default weight by department is entered in the "admin" section of the site in a step later down in this article, but individual item's weights can be set, if different than the default department setting, in Retail STAR in the Internet Sales Product Setup section.
Internet Sales Product Setup -- 'All of this set up is optional Shipping Exceptions:
None – No exception. Use this option for items that do not have any special shipping. Standard shipping applies.
Substitute – Replacement shipping amount. Use this option for items that will have a special shipping amount that replaces the standard amount.
Premium – Additional amounts added to the standard amount. Use this option for items that will have the standard shipping amount plus an additional charge added to the standard shipping.
Amount: Use this field to indicate the substitute amount or the premium amount.
Shipping Options:
Ship Separately – Use this option to indicate that the item must not be included with the shipping of the rest of the order.
Additional Handling – Use this option to indicate that special care must be taken with this item.
Packaging Code – UPS Packaging Codes. Select the code that this item when shipped alone would be placed in.
Dimensions and Weight – Use this section to enter measurements and weight for the item.
Online Admin Setup
Default Weight: Enter the default weight at the department level by logging into your site's "admin" area (ie. www.yourdomain.com/admin), select the "Department" link on the left, and select the department you wish to update. If you need to set individual item weights different than the default department weight, you can set that in the item record in Retail STAR as described above.
Setting up UPS Online Tools: Set up UPS Online Tools by logging into your site's admin area (ie. www.yourdomain.com/admin) and select UPS Online Tools on the left. If you do not see this option, please submit a trouble ticket at http://tickets.istarhelp.com.
In order to use UPS OnLine Tools you must first agree to the UPS license and set up an OnLine Tools account. Before enabling UPS shipping, Retail STAR Shipping Methods need to be mapped to UPS Shipping Methods, and all other settings configured in the UPS Online Section of the admin area.
Account Type: With a Daily Pickup Account, a UPS driver will make a regular stop at your location each day, Monday through Friday, to pick up all package types, including: Ground shipments, Air shipments, International shipments.
NOTE: A weekly service charge applies, and Daily Rates will be billed to your UPS Account (see the UPS Rates section under Terms and Conditions of Service in the online UPS Service Guide).
With an Occasional Account, you decide if and when you need to schedule a UPS driver to pickup your shipments. Once you have prepared your UPS shipments, you have the following options:
* Schedule an On Call Pickup to have your shipment picked up by a UPS driver for a nominal fee. * Hand your shipments to any UPS driver in your area. * Take your shipments to The UPS Store, a UPS Customer Center, or an authorized Shipping Outlet. * Drop off your Air, Ground, or International shipments at one of over 60,000 UPS locations.
NOTE: No weekly service charge applies. UPS On Demand rates will be billed to your UPS Account (see the UPS Rates section under Terms and Conditions of Service in the online UPS Service Guide).
Set Declared Value: If this box is checked it adds charges for Protection Against Loss or Damage. Check UPS rates table on additional charges for updated fees and values. [[ POS State Code to UPS Country Code Mapping:]] This is where you need to map the POS States Codes you have set up in Retail STAR to the UPS Country Codes listed and then hit the Create Mapping button. Once you hit the Create Mapping button, it gets added to the Current State Mappings box below.
Map Shipping Methods: Each shipping method set-up in Retail STAR that you wish to have rates looked up in real-time from the i.STAR shopping cart to UPS needs to be mapped to UPS methods by clicking the Edit button at the right of it. They can be set-up to have a different order subtotal threshold, or can have free shipping enabled.
NOTE: Not all shipping methods must use the online UPS rates, you may have some shipping methods that do while others continue to use the rate tables you have set up in Retail STAR.
After mapping Retail STAR shipping methods to UPS shipping methods retailers can then enable UPS OnLine tools.
Gift Card Payment
Retailers are now able to accept gift cards online. This form must be filled out first and you will receive acknowledgment when CAM has enabled gift cards for your i.STAR site.

NOTE: Gift cards will not work online unless they are issued with PIN numbers.
After you have received a notice that your gift cards with PINs have been issued, you will need to:
1. Set up the payment option in Office STAR. Go to i.STAR / i.STAR Payment Options and insert a payment option with the "Gift Card" type.
2. Log into your online admin area to the Gift Card Setup link and check the box for "Enabled".
3. Once these things are done and communications has run after doing #1 above, shoppers will be able to use store issued gift cards on your site.
Create/Edit Gift Registry Online
Customers are able to create and edit their gift registries / wish lists online
Gift Registries created in Retail Star will now be available to edit to the users they are linked to. The lists show up in the My Account section of iStar and can be edited, deleted, or have items added to and removed from them.
Note: This is an optional feature.
Customer & Product Level Taxation
Online orders will consider customer and product level taxation (yes/no)
