Product Personalization

i.STAR’s Optional Product Personalization Feature
This feature allows setting up items that can be customized (i.e. embroidered products, adding customized gift wrapping etc.) and additional costs can be added if the personalized product is purchased.
If an item has personalization options turned on, it will display a yes/no radio selector so the shopper can chose to personalize it or not. Personalization can also be set-up to be mandatory.
After Hitting Add to Cart:
This is basically another product detail page with the Personalization Style that was specified with the price and attributes embedded in it. In this case, there were no choices of colors or sizes in the Personalization Style so those choices aren’t offered here. This Personalization Code allowed for 1 line of personalization for Name.
Setting up personalization
The fields that require shoppers input are set-up from the personalization admin area. The number of fields and the labels applied are also set-up from there:
Searching for Personalization Style: To specify the “Product” in the above Personlization Information screen, you would hit the “Change” link. The “product” is the personalization “style” which is an item set up in Retail STAR for the purpose of defining the price and attributes such as size/color, if desired, for the personalization feature.
Note: This item in Retail Star should be in a department that is not checked to be displayed on the web ("Web item" box is not checked for the department)
The item itself should be checked as a "web item" in Product Maintenance though.
For example, the personalization style "pers10" could be set to $10 with colors of blue, pink, green, and yellow and the "web item" box for it checked in Product Maintenance. The style number is in department "CODES" which is not a web department. Then it would be used as the Personalization style to link to a particular baby blanket monogram personalization code.
Personalization Field Set Up:
You decide how many personalization fields you will allow for an item. Each field is set up as follows.
Once the Personalization codes are setup they can be assigned at the department level, in which case all items in that department will have personalization options, or at the product level.
Maximum Personalization Characters:
The total characters allowed for personalization is 254. That includes the input text and any text specified to appear before and after each input box and includes spaces.

Cost and Training
The monthly cost is $25 and a one time set up fee of $129 includes the initial training time. If additional training is needed, please call (800) 949-1470, option 8. Training is billable at the rate of $120/hour.
