Setting stock checking codes

By default, i.CAM32 does not require any stock checking codes to be set up. Any item on the web is assumed to be able to be purchased unless it’s been marked as In Store only.

If you wish to have inventory levels checked for stock status and/or want a stock status label to appear with an item, you will want to set up stock checking codes.





Add a stock check code. Specify Code and Description.


Check the appropriate boxes. And continue to specify which store’s inventory to check if you choose Display Stock Status based on Store Quantities.



Type Show Stock Status Allow Purchase of Out of Stock Products Radio Button to Check Stock Status Message Seasonal Items Not Reorderable Check Don’t Check Display Stock Status based on Store Quantities In Stock Message or Out of Stock Message (purchase denied) depending on quantity in stock Reorderable Items Check Check Display Stock Status based on Store Quantities

In Stock Message Regular Stock Always Have Check Check Do Not Perform Stock Status Checking In Stock Message The Stock Status Message – what is displayed on the web – is set up in the web admin area of your site. See information at end of this document below.

Enter Stock Code wherever you want stock status checking to be performed for a web department.



Stock Status Set up – Customizing at Item Level i.STAR will use the Default Department Stock Check Code unless otherwise specified to Use Custom Stock Check Code. The Default Department Stock Check Code is set up through ???, discussed previously in this chapter.

If you wish to override the Department level setting, click F9 to specify an override setting at the item level.



Choose the Custom Stock Status Code you wish to use.



Sending On Hand Balances from MAIN to i.CAM32 Remote

If you aren’t set up this way already in your store, you will need to configure CAM32 at the MAIN to send on hand balances from the MAIN store to the Remote.

Go to System Definitions.



Then to Define End of Day:


Hit the down arrow until cursor higlights the Interstore Communications checkbox and hit F2/Define.


Check the option Send On Hand Per Store then hit Continue and save and exit from this area.


Web Admin - Stock Status: Set up for stock status to appear on shopping cart page and product detail page



Web Admin - Department, Search, Specials: Set up for stock status to appear on the Browse page under Department link. Similar settings available for Search and Specials pages under their respective links.
