Fill out interest form
This form must be filled out first and you will receive acknowledgment when CAM has enabled gift cards for your i.STAR site.

NOTE: Gift cards will not work for online redemption (cannot be used as payment option), unless they are issued with PIN numbers.
Selling Gift Cards Online
1. Set up styles in Retail STAR
Set up styles in Retail STAR for each gift card denomination to be offered for sale on the web. This is different than any styles set up to sell Gift Cards at POS. The ones set up for the web should be set as Type "Gift Card" in Product Maintenance. Make sure they are checked as web items.
Each denomination you wish to sell will need to have an individual style number created in Product Maintenance
We suggest placing all items in one department for "Gift Cards":
They would display on the web as follows:
Shipping can be set-up for these items as needed, using shipping exceptions in Internet Sales Product set-up ie. if you wish to override shipping from being calculated on this item and set it to $0 or some other amount.
Tax can be set-up for these items as needed, item level tax in Product Maintenance ie. if you wish to set this item to Non Taxable.
2. Adding value to gift card
When a gift card is purchased and the order is tendered, you will be prompted to swipe the gift card so it will be loaded, or you can enter the number manually, then click the OK button.
Redeeming Gift Cards Online
Retailers are now able to accept gift cards online.
1. Submit interest form
Notification of set-up complete will be sent to email address used to submit request
2. Set up payment option in Retail STAR
Payment option for Gift Card must set up in iStar/Payment Options to be the “E - Gift Card” type. Once that is done and the changes are imported and #1 above is done, customers will be able to use store issued gift cards online.
3. Paying by gift card on i.STAR site
Shoppers on your site will then be able to specify a gift card to be applied to an order on the payment page. i.STAR will check the gift card balance and will reduce the gift card balance by the order total at the time the order is placed. If the balance is not sufficient to pay for entire order, will prompt the shopper to enter a credit card number for the remaining balance.
